James Sampson

About

Dr. James Sampson is a native Alabamian who has been practicing dentistry in Birmingham since 2008. He graduated from Samford University with a degree in Biochemistry and later received his dental doctorate at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

Upon graduation Dr. Sampson  received the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Award for clinical excellence.  He has also earned a fellowship in the area of Laser Dentistry. 

Dr. Sampson is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Alabama Dental Association, and the World Clinical Laser Institute. He’s also an OPT-In Dental Advantage member who runs an independent practice, Sampson Dentistry, which operates according to the OPT-In Code of Ethics.   

Dr. Sampson’s love for relationships, health and artistry eventually led him to the field of dentistry, where he’s able to passionately pursue all three interests.

When he’s not lecturing about the importance of daily flossing, Dr. Sampson spends time with his wife, Lauren, their family in Huntsville and Nashville, his dog, Maisy. Dr. Sampson is also an avid fly-fisherman.
