As a native Alabamian, Dr. James Sampson’s love for health, artistry, and personal relationships led him to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Sampson completed his undergraduate work at Samford University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. For dental school, Dr. Sampson attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he received the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain Award for clinical excellence upon graduation. Dr. Sampson also went on to earn a fellowship in the area of Laser Dentistry.

Dr. James pson has been practicing dentistry in Birmingham, Alabama since 2008. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Alabama Dental Association, and the World Clinical Laser Institute. Dr. Sampson is also a member of the OPT-In Dental Advantage Network, an organization that strives to improve dentistry as a whole by encouraging healthy doctor patient relationships and focusing on quality of care. When he isn’t meeting with patients and transforming smiles, Dr. Sampson loves spending time with his wife, Lauren, his daughter, Selah, and his dog, Maisy. In his free time, Dr. Sampson also enjoys fly-fishing, the great outdoors, and stunt-kite flying.
