Dr. Peter Karsant has been practicing General and Implant Dentistry in San Francisco’s Excelsior district since 1986. Dr. Karsant and his staff truly enjoy meeting new people and new families. In fact, Dr. Karsant likes to say that one of the reasons he became a dentist is because he likes people.

Dr. Karsant also pursued a career in the dental field because it allows him to indulge his two other passions, art and science. For instance, making a tooth appear as though it has never had a restoration, or returning a mouth to full function through the science of Implant Dentistry.

Many patients have told Dr. Karsant that he is one of a dying breed. He answers his pages within 20 minutes. He comes into the office after normal hours to treat emergencies. And he makes house calls for homebound patients.

Of course, Dr. Karsant’s friendly and highly-trained staff understand that not everyone likes coming to the dentist. That’s why they go out of their way to explain each procedure before, during and after the procedure is performed.

When Dr. Karsant’s staff works with children, for instance, they always tell them what they are going to do, show them what they are going to do, and then allow them to look in a mirror and watch the procedure as it happens if they wish. The practice's patients appreciate that they can have all of their children’s dental needs and all of their own dental needs provided for, at a very high standard, in one office.
