Thomas Maffett

About

Dr. Maffett received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina in 1994. He then completed his dental training at the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Dental Medicine, obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1999.

After dental school he lived in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and practiced dentistry in the Grand Strand area for four years. Dr. Maffett had the opportunity to participate in a number of medical mission trips to Honduras during this time. These trips had a significant impact on Dr. Maffett, and helped to shape him into the caring dentist he is today.

Dr. Maffett fell in love with the Charleston area during dental school. In 2003 he moved to James Island and opened his own independent dental office. He is an OPT-In Dental Advantage member who operates his practice according to the OPT-In Code of Ethics.

Dr. Maffett and his wife, Frankie, a dental hygienist, both work in the office daily. They live with their two wonderful sons, David and Harrison, and their dog, Tess. In their spare time they enjoy surfing, fishing and boating.
